Pedro Correa of The Pedro Channel was The Working Poet Radio Show’s official photographer for Episode Three recorded before a live audience at the Mark Taper Auditorium at the Central Library in DTLA on June 4.
Each show, we’re reaching out to photographers in the L.A. area to capture the event, but we’re almost exclusively looking for other working poets. Pedro is absolutely a working poet, and he’s been in L.A., working as an actor, comedian, editor, and photographer for a couple years, and he’s been posting videos on his YouTube channel since he was 11-years old.
“It’s helped me grow up,” Correa says, “seeing different perspectives and getting inspiration from people across the universe at an early age.”
YouTube, for Pedro, started early and was a way to overcome his boredom at home, but it eventually turned into a love of performing. Watch this video of Pedro at 14-years old when he learns he is moving to Qatar.
In February, he posted a video called “Stony,” and it tells the story of a young actor figuring out how to audition. Watch it below and check out his slideshow from our event.
